Yearnings of modern life (2025)
The debut release by Mallorcan artist Claudia Tomàs features a collection of original songs in English, also her mother tongue, that blend pop-soul, folk and jazz. The piece explores the human yearnings of contemporary life, in the context of a civilization that keeps drifting further from its human nature.
In a clear intention of reclaiming this nature, the recording is in the studio but performed live and with the musicians sharing one same space. This closeness allows a genuine connection to emerge, resulting in a completely organic first sound mix.
The recording, handled by Jordi Tugores, has received industry recognition with a nomination as “Best Jazz Recording” in the +MÚSICAS 2026 Spanish awards.
The project comes to life thanks to renowned musicians Gori Matas (piano), Miquel Muntaner (guitar), Marko Lohikari (double bass) and Teo Salvà (drums). Their carefully crafted and emotional live performance features a setlist that also includes unreleased songs in Catalan. This year it will be part of FiraB! 2026 official showcases.
